Woad, also known as "European Daqing", is a biennial early plant of the Crucaceae family.

In Europe, the traditional method of making blue dye is to crush the raw leaves of woad.
Knead it into a ball and leave it to ferment naturally. After the fibers in it are decomposed, a high-concentration woad dye can be made.

The Germans in Thuringia, Germany, have been cultivating woad since the ninth century AD.
Initially, people used it to dye cloth, but rarely used it for painting.
It was not until the Renaissance that the indigo color (INDIGO) made from woad began to spread into the art and life of Europeans.
Becoming the color that best represents the history of blue dye in Europe.
